Course description

Natural gas is increasing the ‘fuel-of-choice' for applications ranging from power generation, to industrial and commercial applications. At each step in the gas chain, a variety of contracts must be successfully negotiated. They include resource agreements with host governments, marketing agreements among field participants, sales and purchase agreements and transportation contracts for both LNG and natural gas delivered by pipeline. Additional material addresses the role played by governments as project participant, purchaser, guarantor and regulator.

This 5 day seminar is presented in a workshop format that is based around a case study for the 'Big Blue' project simulating the development of natural gas to replace imported oil. Participants receive instruction on various commercial, operational, financial and regulatory aspects of the natural gas industry with special emphasis on options and risks for gas utilisation.
