Course description
This course aims to enhance awareness of the crucial legal aspects of the delivery of construction projects.
Emphasising current trends and recent developments, the course covers the inception stage, including selection of procurement methods and contract forms, contract administration, time issues, liquidated damages, and completion. Separate consideration will be given to dispute avoidance and dispute resolution techniques.
On this short course you'll:
- adopt a strategic approach to procurement, with choice of contract form, use of letters of intent and tendering issues
- valuate the importance of progress and timely completion of the project, including liquidated damages issues
- reflect on the deployment of termination and its consequences
- advise on the full range of dispute avoidance and resolution techniques available in construction contracts
