In April 2018, the UK government implemented the Minimum
Energy Efficient Standards (MEES). These requirements apply to all
let buildings, domestic or non-domestic, with certain exemptions.
The new regulations are already having an impact on property
values in some sub-markets. This course discusses what valuers
need to do to ensure that their valuations reflect the impact of
the MEES regulations appropriately. During the course, you will
gain an understanding of the background to the MEES legislation
and its increasing impact over time. It will reflect on the capital
costs of retrofitting and the valuers’ area of competence and
professional indemnity insurance. It will cover the EPC Registers
and the impact upon value and cover the different valuation
methods and models.
The learning outcomes of this course provide an understanding of:
• the impact of MEES legislation on the valuation of newly let UK
properties
• the risks of MEES and the impact on value in accordance with
the property’s EPC rating
• the need for valuers to only operate within their skills and
competence
Course Costs
- The standard price for a half day course is £105.00
- For Individual and Organisations booking three or more half day courses at one time can obtain the courses for £90.00 each course as a multirate discount
- For APC candidates/Retired attendees/Apprenticeship rate - the price is £70.00 per course
