This 30-credit short course develops the knowledge and skills needed for supporting others in professional settings
This course will introduce you to key philosophies and frameworks of coaching and mentoring practice to develop your ability to support children, young people and adults in a range of settings.
Through demonstration and practical coaching sessions, you will learn the core skills and techniques of coaching and mentoring.
You will be encouraged to engage with models of reflection to gain self-awareness in your coaching and mentoring practice.
This course has been designed with employers to ensure that it provides the knowledge and skills needed in the education, early years and children’s services sector.

How will I learn?
You will be taught over 12 weeks beginning with a full day in-person launch conference where you can meet the other students on your course.
This will be followed by weekly evening live-online teaching sessions in the virtual classroom and flexible online learning activities to fit around your work and commitments.
These short courses will be eligible for tuition fee loans in a 3-year trial as part of the government’s preparations for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement.
You will be eligible for a tuition fee loan for your short course if you live in England, even if you have had student loans for university courses in the past.
