Are you a trainee motor vehicle mechanic or technician? This course offers hands-on practical experience with study of the theory behind motor vehicle engineering. It’s a combination that will grow your knowledge and create new opportunties.
Subjects covered include: • Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engine and component faults • Diagnosing and rectifying auxiliary equipment electrical faults • Identifying and agreeing customer vehicle needs • Diagnosing and rectifying transmission and driveline system faults You’ll combine practical experience at work with one day a week at College to acquire the theory and knowledge required to complete the English, maths and IT elements. You must achieve your IMI Technical Certificate Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair – Level 3. Our professional staff are here to help from day one, with guidance and support all the way.
Next steps include higher-level work in the motor vehicle industry, plus study for a higher level diploma or equivalent qualification in motor vehicle engineering.

Employment in a suitable job role. GCSEs in maths and English language grade A-D/3-9. Some employers may also specify additional qualifications. We will provide individual advice and guidance for applicants who do not meet these entry requirements.
