Course description
The Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People will give learners a basic understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting.
Suitability - Who should attend?
Two or more GCSEs at grades 9-3/ A*-D (or overseas equivalent) including English language or FSKL level 1 English or a pass at level 1 Health and Social care/childcare qualification. You will have an interview and assessment to ascertain your suitable for level two course.
Training Course Content
The Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People will give learners a basic understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting. It will also help them to make an informed choice about working with children and young people.
This qualification is designed to help learners progress onto higher level qualifications in childcare and education, which may eventually result in job roles such as practitioner in day nurseries, nursery schools, reception classes in primary schools or pre-school worker
Course delivery details
Your work will be assessed by your teacher using a range of methods including written tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, or setting up an information board, practical tasks and professional discussions.
We encourage you to engage with work placement opportunities that will support practical assessment in real work environment.
Continuing Studies
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to progress to the Level 3 qualification in childcare or health and social care.
