Course description
This three-day course is for employees required to meet the first aid requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulation 1981 in their workplace. Employers should select an employee who is physically fit, responsible and available to provide first aid in the work setting, in accordance with Regulation 3, Section 47 of the Approved Code of Practice (available from HSE Books, T:01787 881165)

Outcome / Qualification etc.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the HABC First Aid at Work Certificate, which is valid for three years.
Training Course Content
Those studying the Level 3 First Aid at Work course will learn about situation management, communication, responsibilities and priorities as well as managing an unconscious casualty; resuscitation, breathing, airway and heart massage, treating minor injuries, dealing with the effects of poisons, gases and fumes, moving injured people, avoiding cross infection when treating wounds, record keeping, using and buying supplies for the First Aid Box, duties of employers and how to treat shock, burns and scalds, injuries to bones, muscles and joints and eye injuries.
