Welding Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)
This 2 day practical course is designed to give instruction on the following topics related to TIG welding Tungsten Inert Gas:
- Health and safety
- Principles of the TIG welding process
- Identification of controls and settings
- AC/DC power supply and their application
- Electrode selection and treatment
- Types of filler wire
- Identification of shielding gases
- Joint designs application and preparation
- Weld fault investigation and rectification
The course is suitable for those with little or no formal training. Over the 2 days candidates will practice fillet, lap and butt joints using aluminium, mild and stainless steel.

Suitability - Who should attend?
We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore participants will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe capped boots or shoes, gloves and suitable protective clothing which provides full cover for arms and legs. We strongly recommend also wearing a high visibility vest.
