Course description
The Level 1 Certificate in Art, Design & Media has been designed to provide you with an introduction to the creative sector, enabling you to make future progression choices whilst developing you knowledge and practical, communication and personal development skills. In order to achieve this qualification, you will study: - Introduction to materials, processes and skills in art, design and media - Introduction to contextual research in art, design and media - Introduction to communication skills in art and design - Solving 2D creative problems - Solving 3D creative problems - Solving time-based creative problems - A final project, where you will demonstrate your learning and knowledge.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will have some achievement at GCSE including English grade E-G and Maths grade E-G. You will have an initial assessment of your literacy skills and will need to achieve a score of Entry Level 3 in order to gain access to the course. You will need to be motivated to follow a vocational programme of study and demonstrate a commitment to the course. Acceptance onto the course is also subject to a reference from a previous tutor or employer.
