Course description
This course is ideal if you want to work with children under 5 years of age in a nursery setting. The syllabus includes: theory of play, child development, health and safety, childhood health issues and working with children and parents. You will need to secure a work placement for 16 hours a week for the whole of the course. You must secure your placement and provide evidence of this to the College before we can enrol you onto the course. In the placement you can be a paid employee or a volunteer, but it must be with children under 5 years of age.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will have 2 or more GCSEs at grades D or above, including English and Maths. If you are a mature student, previous work experience, enthusiasm and motivation to succeed and to progress will be taken into account.
