Course description
This course is ideal if you want to work with children under 5 years of age in a nursery setting. The syllabus includes: theory of play, child development, health and safety, childhood health issues and working with children and parents. As part of this course you will need a work placement for 16 hours a week for the whole of the course. If you are age 19 or over, you must source your own placement. We will not enrol you onto this course until you have provided evidence that your placement has been secured. In the placement you can be a paid employee or a volunteer, but it must be with children under 5 years of age.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will need 4 GCSEs grade A* - C in English, Maths and 2 other subjects. If you are considering becoming a Primary School Teacher then one of these GCSEs must be in a science subject.
