Course description
This course is to prepare you for the 1 year Access Course. If you are you a mature student (aged 19 and over) who has the ambition to go to university but needs to improve both your ICT skills and English & Maths skills, then this is for you. Computers are essential to all businesses and this course will give you a great grounding. You will learn about Website Design, Mobile Devices and software applications and how they are essential to the business world today. From web design through to databases and spreadsheets this course is very comprehensive. You will also cover the important and current topic of IT Security and how we all need to keep our information and data safe and secure from 21st century cyber threats. The units you will study include: - IT security for users - using mobile IT devices - database software - spreadsheet shoftware - website software - improving productivity using ICT If you do not have GCSEs in English and Maths, but want to go on to university, you will cover these subjects on the course to bring you up to a GCSE level.
