This Diploma in Preparing for Further Study at Level 2 is designed for mature students (usually aged 19 and over) who are planning a career in Science or would like to gain a Science degree. This course will help you get back into study and develop your skills. You will cover a range of interesting modules all designed to get you back into enjoying learning. You will study specific units linked to your subject area, including: - The living body - Biology and our environment - Chemistry and our earth - Energy and the universe - Planning a career in science, your career pathways and options Plus, general units which develop your study skills, including: - Developing and using research skills - Personal study skills - Understanding stress management and how people learn - Developing own interpersonal skills - Equal opportunities - Understanding nutrition - Mathematics using calculations - IT You should be prepared to study hard for at least another whole day in your own time each week, in addition to your classes at College. You can take advantage of our study facilities including our Library & Learning Resources Centre and IT suites.

Suitability - Who should attend?

You do not require any formal qualifications, however you will undertake an on-line assessment to ensure your Maths and English are at a suitable level for study at this level. Once you have applied for the course you will be invited to attend an interview and initial assessment.
