This BIM Project Information Practitioner qualification will set you on the path to gaining internally recognized certificates and Marks of Trust.
This first step on the BIM qualification journey will give you an understanding of how to deliver design and construction projects in line with the relevant standards, and how to apply BIM implementation to your organization and how contractors in turn can show their understanding of BIM capability to their clients.
Guided by expert trainers, you will learn how to make decisions on information schema, format and the necessary criteria for checks, as well as the roles and responsibilities involved in those checks.

BIM Project Information Practitioner includes:
BIM Fundamentals
- The basic principles of BIM, terminology relating to BIM, and why BIM is important
- The terms ‘BIM according to ISO 19650’ and ‘UK BIM implementation’
- The value of information through all stages of a project and asset lifecycle
- Why BIM is a determining factor for delivering projects on time and without waste and inefficiencies
- Demonstrate the ability to use the standards that support ‘UK BIM implementation’
- Gain a general understanding of the ‘Information Delivery Cycle’ as outlined in ISO 19650-1
BIM ISO 19650 Part 2: Project Delivery Phase (1 days classroom – in-person or virtual)
- Explain what the ISO 19650-2 standard says and what it means
- Define how key information management documents are developed
- Identify how designers and contractors are expected to show their BIM capability to their prospective clients
- Understand how to start applying ISO 19650-2 to your projects
BIM BS 1192 Part 4: Handover Information Exchange (1 days classroom – in-person or virtual)
- Explain the value of information
- Use ISO 19650 Part 4 for information requirements and delivery documentation
- Understand the factors in choosing software, schemas and formats
- Check information exchanges
- Understand a specific information exchange such as handover and national conventions as examples
Each module is followed by a mandatory online multiple-choice examination. Delegates must pass the examination to be awarded the qualification.
