Course description
Make up Application (Level 3)
It seems as if wherever you look today – on the web, on the television and in the High Street – there’s a new beauty or skin care product hitting the market.
While many women (and, increasingly, some men) would love to try them all, it can be an expensive and confusing process. Plus, in many cases you’re not sure whether it’s safe to replace your favourite moisturiser with the new serum, for example.
This terrific course will help you see past the marketing information and make an informed choice for yourself. It’s also an ideal primer for a career in beauty, covers many aspects of salon work, and goes through descriptions of the various skin care treatments in some detail.
You also learn about basic anatomy and physiology, and about the skin (the body’s biggest organ), including analysis of skin types, skin diseases and disorders, and how to give advice on after-care.
A useful section deals with contra indications and contra actions. It guides you through the various types of preparation you’re likely to need to help clients resolve any skin problems, and when to refer to medical professionals if necessary.
In terms of career preparation, the course also advises on professionalism in the salon environment.
This absorbing Level 3 Makeup Application course from Cambridge Open College provides a real insight into the science and biotechnology behind techniques and preparations, and in particular how to optimise your own or your clients’ skin tone and appearance.
