Suitability - Who should attend?

We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability whilst studying with CRC. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs. You will be assigned a tutor who will make contact with you prior to you course starting and you will have access to MS Teams to communicate with your tutor and support network. Course work is submitted via our online system and your tutor will mark and return you work to you with feedback.

  • Section 3: Understand how to maintain health and well-being of the elderly in care

Unit 3: Common health issues affecting individuals in elderly care

  • Section 1: Understand how to deal with health issues in elderly care
  • Section 2: Understand the impact of dementia
  • Section 3: Understand urinary tract health issues
  • Section 4: Understand pneumonia
  • Section 5: Understand wounds and healing
  • Section 6: Understand depression
  • Section 7: Understand arthritis
  • Section 8: Understand end of life care

Unit 4: Individual rights in elderly care

  • Section 1: Understand how to safeguard and protect vulnerable adults in elderly care settings
  • Section 2: Understand how to recognise that a vulnerable adult has been abused
  • Section 3: Understand how to respond to evidence or concerns that vulnerable adult has been abused
  • Section 4: Understand equality and diversity in a care setting
  • Section 5: Understand legislation affecting service user's rights in a care setting

Unit 5: Minimising risk in elderly care

  • Section 1: Understand the importance of risk assessment in elderly care settings
  • Section 2: Understand manual handling in elderly care settings
  • Section 3: Understand risks form hazardous substances in elderly care settings
  • Section 4: Understand the risk of infection in elderly care settings
  • Section 5: Understand how to deal with accidents in elderly care settings
  • Section 6: Understand the safe administration of medicines in elderly care settings

Unit 6: Communication in elderly care

  • Section 1: Understand the importance of communication in elderly care settings
  • Section 2: Understand how to communicate with a client moving into a care home and their family
  • Section 3: Understand the skills required to work in elderly care settings
