Course description
This programme provides knowledge in all aspects of construction maintenance operations including carpentry and joinery, bricklaying, plastering, plumbing, painting and decorating and tiling together with the underpinning and supporting knowledge to work safely in the construction sector.
Course Content
Units may include;
Knowledge of building methods and construction technology.
Carry out safe working practices in construction
Carry out small-scale masonry trade/painting, decorating/plastering/plumbing/wood trade repairs
Employment rights and responsibilities
Development of numeracy and literacy skills at Level 2
Assessments
You will be assessed in the workplace to provide evidence of working at a competent level to be able to satisfy the requirements of the NVQ Level 2.
Progression
On successful completion, students can progress to an Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship.
