Course description
Ghetto uprising 1943: Jewish life and death in Warsaw: 75 years ago, 220 young people, incarcerated in the Warsaw Ghetto, led an armed rebellion against the Nazis. This course tells the backstory of Warsaw's vibrant but increasingly endangered Jewish life in the decade before the uprising, describes the many forms of resistance, highlights key individuals, and reflects on a tragic but inspiring episode during the Holocaust.
