Course description
This one day course is designed for experienced RVNs with an interest in anaesthesia who wish to further their knowledge of respiratory monitoring. It will include some respiratory physiology, before covering in detail advanced monitoring techniques such as spirometry and blood gas analysis, examining both normal and abnormal traces/results along with the aetiology and correction of abnormalities. We will also examine and discuss both normal and abnormal capnograph traces under anaesthesia and during CPR, including how to identify and address the underlying causes of abnormal capnograph trace, including troubleshooting equipment.
