Course description
Anaesthesia is one of the biggest responsibilities we have as nurses, even routine procedures on healthy animals can become a challenge. We have a duty of care alongside our veterinary surgeons to monitor and react effectively to any problems occurring under general anaesthesia.
Specific areas to be covered
- Anaesthesia planning and case preparation
- Proactive monitoring -help my heart rate is 200!!!
- Surgeries which may cause challenges eg GDV, diaphragmatic rupture
- Disease processes which may cause challenges eg diabetes, cardiac disease
