Event Details
This day course for veterinary nurses will discuss all the considerations and challenges faced when anaesthetising both the very young and very old canine and feline patients. The day will include the physiological differences in the extremes of age, preparation & planning for anaesthesia, the drugs, monitoring and recovery, as well as the management of commonly encountered illnesses and conditions associated with extremes of age.

Geriatrics
– Diabetes mellitus
– Heart disease
– Renal disease
– Liver disease
Paediatrics
– Corneal lacerations (cat scratches)
– Intussusceptions and intestinal foreign bodies
– Congenital heart disease, such as PDA
