Course description
This course will help improve confidence with all things ECG in practice. The day will start with an understanding of the ECG machine, and how to get the perfect ECG recording. The next session will look at the ‘normal’ or sinus complex and then progress to the abnormal, starting with the more common arrhythmias. Case scenarios will be used to relate knowledge learnt to situations seen in practice. The course will examine why arrhythmias occur, relating this to patients with heart murmurs, heart disease, and heart failure. It will also consider those at risk of developing arrhythmias such as critical patients and those undergoing anaesthesia. Finally, life threatening arrhythmias will be discussed, and the day will end with an optional fun quiz!
