Course description
This course will be a refresher on the pathophysiology, clinical signs, physical examination abnormalities, biochemical changes and treatment options for the common endocrine disorders encountered in general practice. We will also cover some of the nursing skills required for the intensive care of patients with life threatening endocrinopathies, as well as triage and emergency treatment of the common endocrine emergencies.

• Hyperthyrodisim
• Hypthyroidism
• Hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing’s Disease)
• Hypoadrenocorticism (Addison’s Disease)
• Diabetes melllitus
• Diabetic ketoacidosis
• Insulinoma
• Feline aldosteronism (Conn’s syndrome)
