Course description
Nursing cats in the veterinary hospital can be very challenging for all veterinary staff. Handling, diagnosing, monitoring and general nursing care becomes evermore difficult in a species that is the master of disguise and can resort to aggression as a result of intense fear. This course is aimed at the general practice nurse who wishes to increase their nursing skills with cats and implement cat friendly practice techniques. It will also look at the more common feline diseases that are seen in practice such as hyperthyroidism and FLUTD, and look at the best ways to diagnose and treat these conditions as well as looking at the nursing considerations of these patients including nursing the anorexic cat.
