Chinese Beginners Level 1

This course is for complete beginners. The course concentrates on pronunciation, listening and speaking, with limited Chinese character recognition. This is an enjoyable class in which to start learning Chinese. Within just a few weeks you will have a basic knowledge of the language and be able to have simple conversations in Chinese. The course will follow the text book "Easy steps to Chinese 1". By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to: Learn Chinese pronunciation and its representation in terms of the phonetic alphabet; Greet people, introduce yourself and a third party; Say the days of the week, dates and the months of the year; Learn numbers and exchange phone numbers; Talk about your age and birthday; Talk about where you live; Learn Chinese strokes, scripts and simple Chinese calligraphy; Learn about Chinese sentence structures.
