Course description
German Advanced Conversation is suitable for learners who have been studying German over a period of years, usually for personal / family/ work reasons, or indeed just out of interest.
Whilst the AS course book ’Zeitgeist’ is used as a springboard for discussion, sessions are varied; some more complex grammar points are studied and practised, more basic grammar is revisited, many contemporary texts of different genres and origins are read and discussed. There is a lot of opportunity for conversation and a simplified work of literature is generally read in weekly instalments. Topics to be covered include leisure and tourism, healthy living, sport and fitness.
No specific level of German is required to enjoy this course, as students arrive with mixed experiences and exposure to the language, but a desire to communicate as much as possible in the language makes the sessions relaxed but lively!
