It's amazing how often project managers start the project planning process by making a list of all the tasks they think will be needed to complete a project, then proclaiming that they've created the breakdown structure. (WBS) for the project.The result is a list of hundreds or even thousands of tasks, many of which have a duration of a few days or a few hours.
