Course description
Senior Finance Leaders Programme
The Senior Finance Leaders Programme is designed to equip the capable financial professional to make the step up to the higher main board and C-Suite level. It provides the individual with first-hand practical skills to be able to make this transition a success. The finance professional will learn techniques and skills that complement what they have learnt in practice and industry to date, and be able to implement these CFO-specific skills immediately in new roles, or in different environments, with more demanding objectives and outputs.
In demanding financial roles, it is almost impossible to create the headspace to think about anything other than the immediate challenges to hand. As a result, continuing professional education is limited to the narrow practical experiences of specific roles in specific organisations in specific sectors. This leads to highly competent and skilled finance professionals being exposed when asked to assume higher levels of responsibility, in differing corporate entity environments, and from an organisational perspective, it becomes potentially a high-level and costly gamble when appointing people to the most senior financial positions.
Additionally, as aspiring finance professionals gain greater responsibility and accountability, they are challenged to consider strategic and decision-making options from not just a finance perspective. This can be a significant deviation from what might have been to date simply a narrow set of decision-making skills based on academic-style and fact-based information.
