Course description

Role of the Finance Director

This course will provide you with a practical overview of the complex duties and responsibilities of a finance director.

You will gain a full understanding of how to fulfil this role successfully, with a focus on ensuring that financial strategies support the wider corporate goals of a business. You will have the opportunity to explore your role with fellow directors and gain a deeper insight into your boardroom responsibilities, which will help you enhance your personal contribution to the board in terms of strategic leadership.

By the end of the programme, you will be better equipped to examine your financial strategies and how these support the broader corporate aims or your organisation.

“IoD offers a unique training solution to those aspiring to become directors or simply needing a "refresher" (in governance, strategy, risk etc.), vital for directing a business in an increasingly dynamic environment. I have previously taken the IoD course on the Role of the Non-Executive Director which helped enormously in interacting with such directors in the boardroom.” Raj Gandhi
