- We are in an era where the term sustainability is eventually treated as a must-have instead of a nice-to-have. Today, sustainability is at the top of the agenda both for governments and businesses across the globe.
- The sustainability of companies has never been questioned to this extent before. They are not simply expected to comply with emerging regulations, but more importantly, their customers and extended stakeholders, investors, and even shareholders are all looking to see a roadmap to offer sustainable options in the foreseeable future, if they are not there already.
- On the other hand, we have also been witnessing structural issues as well as a slowdown in global macroeconomic growth. This brings in a bi-objective problem to be solved, while achieving sustainability and growth simultaneously is typically considered as a conflict. Decision and policy makers need to address both anyway, and this requires them – first of all – to have a strategy in place.
- In this course, we will focus on how sustainability can be achieved at the firm level. We will first deep dive into the accurate and complete interpretation of the terms sustainability and sustainable development, and understand what an actionable roadmap to achieve sustainable profitable growth and value creation looks like for a business.
- We will also demonstrate by examples from diverse industries and decision-making levels how sustainability can be incorporated into our managerial practice.
