Course description

Join chartered accountant David Potts as he summarises all the key developments and major issues in completing audit work in accordance with the most current statutory audit requirements. The in-person seminar will focus on the areas of widest importance to those involved in the audit of mainly SME clients.


This full day update will consider the contents and requirements of any new technical information issued by regulators such as the FRC, ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI and ACCA - including updated and revised ISAs and Practice Notes. The current key issues arising from inspection visits will also be explored, along with changes in financial reporting requirements, emerging best practice, and the required record keeping and procedural responsibilities that are imposed on the auditor.

This 1 day in-person seminar will summarise all the key developments and major issues in completing audit work in accordance with the most current statutory audit requirements.

  • The current key issues arising from inspection visits of auditors performed by professional bodies and also the FRC (and their successor organisation).
  • Key audit issues arising from changes in financial reporting requirements including changes to FRS and company law.
  • The emerging best practice by looking at how other firms are responding to changing requirements.
  • The required record keeping and procedural responsibilities that are imposed on the auditor.
