Clothesmaking - All Levels

This course will teach you the sewing skills you need to make your own clothes to a high standard. By the end of the course you'll be able to:

• Thread and use a sewing machine and overlocker to sew seams
• Identify types of paper patterns and suitable fabric
• Read a paper pattern and lay, pin and cut out fabric
• Complete sample seams and hand sewn finishes
• Understand how to make a simple garment. Depending on your ability you may be able to complete a garment of your own during the course.

Your tutor will give you feedback and advice. You'll also complete self assessment and homework. This course will provide you with plenty of skills that would be useful on a fashion, clothesmaking or sewing course. You can further your knowledge by taking another course at the College.
