The Meaning of Life
Does life have a meaning? This course explores answers given by thinkers in Western philosophy, including Aristotle, Seneca, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard and Sartre. It also consider the question from religious, anthropological and psychotherapeutic points of view.

What you will learn
The format of classes is interactive. Classes will consist of presentations by the tutor and discussion in pairs and small groups. The aim is not for students to hear about answers to the question of the meaning of life, but to tackle the question. So be prepared to hear views you may disagree with and to be asked to defend your own. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will receive ongoing formative feedback from the tutor.
