Cake Decorating Next Steps
This course carries on from the beginners cake decorating course and is suitable for intermediate cake decorators. The students will prepare and cook the perfect Madeira cake for cutting into shapes, and an advanced Swiss meringue buttercream. They will then go on to more advanced sugar paste work, piping techniques with royal icing and making impressive wired sugar flowers.
- Receive expert teaching and guidance, using standard home kitchen equipment
- Have plenty of hands on experience
- Recap on basic baking methods and techniques and to raise confidence in trying new challenges.

Suitability - Who should attend?
What You'll Need to Join:
No subject specific requirements but basic English written skills and maths skills is required plus basic manual dexterity required to complete practical work.
Training Course Content
This course covers:
- Prepare and bake the perfect Madeira cake and Swiss meringue buttercream
- Wired sugar flowers and statement flowers
- Colouring, taping and arranging flower sprays
- Edible painting and Colour washing on a Dummy Cake
- Using royal icing in a variety of ways
- Design and decorate a final bespoke cake, using skills learnt throughout the course
