First Aid for the Equestrian Industry
This First Aid for the Equestrian Industry provides the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with a wide range of medical emergencies whilst working within the equine sector. Successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for three years. This course is assessed throughout the course by means of continual assessment by the trainer.

Who should attend?
Any person who is or is studying for a registered instructor qualification within the British Horse Society or examination candidates and anybody who works within the industry that require the additional knowledge and skills.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

- Understand the requirements of a First Aid kit
- Perform life saving techniques
- Understand how to manage equestrian related injuries
- Use of a pocket mask to improve infection control

- Control of bleeding, Burns and scalds
- Dealing with equestrian accidents.
- Convulsions / Fitting
- First on scene casualty management and casualty positioning
- Poisoning
- Resuscitation
- Allergic Manifestations
- Management of an unconscious casualty
- Management & treatment of fractures including spinal & pelvic injuries
