NEW Microscopic Drawing (Short Courses)
Exploring and capturing the beauty of the plant kingdom hidden to the naked eye. Looking at the natural world in all its details, with the help of magnifying glasses. Getting a basic knowledge about plant morphology. Producing a close-up, larger than life drawing/painting of a botanical subject using scaling.
Students will be taught, how to use magnifying glasses correctly, scaling, how to identify microscopic structures and how to capture, enlarge and reproduce these structures on paper using different media. About the properties of different media and materials, how to work with them, how to produce morphologically accurate and aesthetically pleasing larger than life illustrations, including simple line drawings, three-dimensional black and white illustrations in pencil and ink and finally coloured pencil drawings as well as watercolour paintings. They will get a basic knowledge about botany and learn what to look out for, in order to produce scientifically accurate illustrations and realistic botanical art work

What will I achieve? You will learn how to use a magnifying glass correctly and how to identify structures hidden to the naked eye. Learn how how to plan, compose and produce a larger than life drawing/painting of a botanical subject using magnifying glasses and correct scaling. You will have a basic knowledge about plant morphology.
