Watercolour Painting (All Levels)
The projects on this course will include Still Life, Portraiture and Figure, Landscape, Architecture and Plants as well as experimentation. Trips to galleries are included as well as drawing and painting in local parks. Techniques are explored through experimentation. You will also experiment with colour and limited palettes and composition. Students are encouraged to develop individual styles through projects and exercises. This will be further supported by looking at the paintings and treatments of other watercolour painters throughout history, learning from their compositions and techniques.

What will I achieve? The aim of the course is to help you develop your skill as a watercolour painter and also improve your drawing skills. It is suitable for any students, beginners as well as with some previous experience wanting to improve existing skills and develop a personal approach to watercolour painting.
Course delivery details
Materials Required: What to bring to the first session: Bring to the first class any drawing materials you possess; watercolour paper and further items can be purchased from the school shop. Basic kit should include: Pencils – 2B or 3B (or a selection of your own choosing) sharpener, Putty rubber, Brushes – Watercolour brushes Sizes 8,10,12,16. plus1’’ flat brush, sable or synthetic (Please bring what you have already). Paints – Tubes of watercolour .Primary colours and Sepia for the first class. Paper –One pad of watercolour paper not less than 140lbweight.Size 18’’x14’’. Plus Cartridge or similar sketch book A4 or A5, The school sells an excellent rough watercolour paper by the sheet.
