Course description
British Sign Language Level 1 Award: This course teaches you how to communicate with deaf people in British Sign Language (BSL) on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language use. The course is suitable if you want to learn new language skills as part of a programme of study or to progress to more advanced study and/or employment using BSL in the future. Please note, you will need to have sufficient sight, manual dexterity, and facial and body movement to produce and receive will study three units: Introduction to British Sign Language, Conversational British Sign Language, and Communicate in Sign Language about everyday the end of the qualification, you will be able to understand and use a limited range of words & sentences, take part in simple, everyday conversations, give & follow basic directions or instructions, and give & follow simple, familiar statements or descriptions.
