Working at Pace - Project Management Essentials A-Z
Project Management skills allow you to deliver any kind of project (from simple to highly complex) more efficiently and with better results.
It’s all about knowing and being able to use a simple process to kick-off, plan, deliver, monitor progress and close your projects, where the focus is on the deliverables. Too much process and you risk losing sight of the end goal. Too little, and you run the risk of delivering late, not delivering what people want, and spending too much money in the process.
As an outcome of attending this session you will:
- Become comfortable with a simple project management lifecycle of Initiating, Planning, Executing & Controlling and Closing a project
- Be able to create a Project Charter that captures all the key elements of your project and which will serve as a key communication tool
- Have a step-by-step process to plan your projects in depth
- Understand how crucial stakeholders are to project success and how to capture and deliver on their requirements
- Know the key risks and issues that can affect projects and how to manage them
- Understand when you need to escalate problems and which ones belong with you
- Appreciate the value of effective closing and how lessons learned can be used to enhance future projects
