Our Wax Carving - Designing Jewellery from Soft Material short course is suitable for beginner and intermediate jewellers who want to add a new element of 3D making to their work. The course will show you different techniques using various waxes, which is a soft material that can be used at home and doesn't necessarily need special facilities or workshops for creation. The course will develop your understanding of three-dimensional vision, skills in soft and hard wax carving and how to transform wax into metal.
This course is aimed at anyone who is keen to make jewellery in an easy way and no previous jewellery making experience is required. The course will improve your understanding of three-dimensional vision through drawing skills and exposure to new material techniques. The course welcomes different levels of ability, catering to both beginners and those more experienced.
Upon completion of the course you'll learn how to go about having your pieces cast in metal from your wax carvings.
