This course gives a thorough insight into the responsibilities of the company secretary and governance professional and follows on from Role of the Company Secretary: Part 1.
It identifies frameworks and tools which can support the Company Secretary or governance professional in performing their role effectively.
Participants will gain confidence in how to approach key areas of governance such as risk management, stakeholder engagement, navigating boardroom dynamics, the induction of new directors and the use of governance frameworks. The course will enhance your understanding of the Company Secretary as an advisor and influencer of the board and the organisation.

• have recently taken on, or are considering accepting, responsibilities for governance or the role of Company Secretary.
• are working with or supporting a company secretary or governance professional, whether a CEO, chair, executive support team or secretariat.
This training course is relevant to all sectors, including listed and private companies, and the principles can also be applied to governance within the public sector and the NHS. Governance professionals working in charities would be recommended to take Role of the Charity Secretary course.
