This course is a practical guide for the general practitioner to the correct diagnosis and management of the most frequently diagnosed sarcomas and carcinomas in dogs. The participants will learn through interactive discussion of clinical cases how prognosis for patients affected by these malignant cancers is affected by clinical stage, and how promptly appropriate therapy is instituted, and what therapy is chosen. Multiple treatment options will be discussed for each neoplastic condition, with emphasis on clinical stage, cost of treatment, prognosis and palliative care.

- Osteosarcoma
- Hemangiosarcoma
- Melanoma
- Nasal carcinoma
- Urinary bladder and prostatic carcinoma
- Anal sac carcinoma
- Mammary carcinoma
Learning Objectives:
For each tumour type the participants will learn the principle and advances in:
- Diagnosis and clinical staging
- Curative intent and palliative treatments
- Rescue therapies, included metronomic chemotherapy
- Less costly options
Required delegate attributes:
General practitioners at any level of experience. The course can be an introduction for the least experienced or work as an update for example certificate holders. General principles of diagnosis and treatment are discussed alongside the most recent advances and rescue protocols through both simple and complex cas
