Course description
This practical course is designed to provide practitioners with a hands-on experience of a variety of small animal endoscopes. The course will review the types of endoscopes along with their relative merits. It will cover the indications for endoscopy along with the information that can be obtained. The course will also provide the delegates with an approach, which ensures a rigorous endoscopic evaluation of the intestinal and respiratory tracts.
By the end of the course the delegates should be familiar with the handling of a number of endoscopes with particular emphasis on the various endoscopic techniques in small animals that ensure a thorough evaluation of the mucosal surfaces have been carried out. Ultimately, it is hoped that the delegates will feel more comfortable approaching routine endoscopies and feel confident they have evaluated the upper and lower intestinal tract, along with the bronchial tree during the procedures.
The course structure is: 50% Practical, 50% Teaching
