The IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management provides the perfect professional development qualification for those working in organisations at an operational level and pursuing a career path in environment and sustainability.
This 15-day course has been developed to provide learners with a deep understanding of environmental and sustainability issues as well as being able to apply environmental management, assessment tools and skills that are needed to drive organisational change towards sustainability and be an effective IEMA environment or sustainability practitioner.
On successful completion of this course, you can gain IEMA practitioner status (PIEMA), where you’ll get exclusive access to webinars, networks, mentors and more.

Suitability - Who should attend?
This course is for people already working in an environmental management or sustainability role. After completing the course, you’ll walk away with a detailed knowledge of environmental principles, sustainability, management tools and other skills to deliver positive change.
Training Course Content
The modules are:
- Module 1: Fundamentals of Sustainability, Business and Governance
- Module 2: Environmental Principles, Policy and Legislation
- Module 3: Environmental Management/Assessment Tools and Skills
- Module 4: Assessment of Competence

Course delivery details
There are three knowledge-based assignments that are aligned to the three modules on the course, demonstrating that you know how to practically apply the knowledge you have learned throughout the course.
Once you’ve passed the assignments, you’ll need to complete an ‘Assessment of Competence’ where you’ll be asked to provide examples of how you’ve applied your learning within the workplace.
