Course description
Surging global demand for base and precious metals in recent years has resulted in a dramatic increase in commodity prices. This has fuelled greatly expanded exploration activity, a host of potential new mining projects, and the acceleration of M&A and capital markets activity in the mining sector. This course provides an opportunity to better understand the commercial and legal issues surrounding key agreements used within the mining industry to implement these projects and transactions. This course will address the risks and challenges associated with mining activities from the perspective of various stakeholders, including junior exploration companies, intermediate and senior mining companies, host governments , institutions providing financing to the mining industry, metals traders, financial investors and local partners and community groups and NGOs.
This is a five-day intensive course which features lectures, case studies and practical coursework led by two leading legal advisors to the global mining & metals industry.
