Course description
On completion of this postgraduate level short course participants should be able to analyse ethical problems in practice from perspectives of ethical theories and be able to apply this to ethical situations.
The syllabus will include: competing ethical theories; beings, human beings and persons; permissibility of withdrawing life-sustaining treatment, the duties of a healthcare professional; abortion; patient confidentiality; justice and healthcare: scarce resources and informed consent.
