Description:
Photography has become an essential part of dentistry, both to enhance patient records and prevent litigation. With proper training any member of the dental team is capable of taking high quality and reproducible images. This CPD activity is both suitable as an introduction to dental photography and also to reinforce and upgrade participants' existing knowledge and skills.
Aims:
Overall aim:
To achieve high quality and consistent dental photographs.
Specific aims:
1. To demystify dental photography.
2. To provide learners with an opportunity to use a DSLR camera.
3. To improve dental records.
Objectives:
1. To explore the use of dental photography as a diagnostic, marketing and educational tool.
2. To guide, inform and advise on camera equipment for dental photography.
3. To discuss consent and information sharing for dental photography.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Recognise the value of producing high quality dental photographs.
2. Select the right camera equipment for dental photography.
3. Gain valid consent for dental photography, store and share information appropriately.
