Course description
This course will show you how to deal with marks, bite marks and other signs of abuse, how to record the evidence and present your findings in court.
Bite marks and other patterned bruising marks left on the human body in cases of child abuse (NAI), spouse and senior abuse, murder and rape cases can often be traced to a perpetrator, but early recognition is essential and how to deal with such cases is often not understood by practitioners. If the evidence is mishandled it can lead to difficulties in presenting the evidence in court. Safeguarding is now a mandatory CPD requirement of the GDC and other Health Care Regulators.
By attending this course you will be able to:
1. recognise non accidental injury and bite marks on a victim.
2. know how to deal with marks, bite marks and other related evidence properly.
3. have an understanding of the correct photographic techniques for preserving bite mark evidence.
4. prepare for presentation of your evidence in court.
