Course description
This 30-credit short course will update your knowledge and skills following recent changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework
You will explore current regulatory curriculum and guidance in the Early Years.
You will consider a range of theories and perspectives to develop your skills in planning, evaluating and assessing for young children’s learning.
You will explore approaches to the co-construction of planning and learning to develop child-centred practices which include children’s voices and support their needs and interests.
This course has been designed with employers to ensure that it provides the knowledge and skills needed in the early years sector.

How will I learn?
You will be taught over 12 weeks beginning with a full day in-person launch conference where you can meet the other students on your course.
This will be followed by weekly evening live-online teaching sessions in the virtual classroom and flexible online learning activities to fit around your work and commitments.
These short courses will be eligible for tuition fee loans in a 3-year trial as part of the government’s preparations for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement.
You will be eligible for a tuition fee loan for your short course if you live in England, even if you have had student loans for university courses in the past.
