Sport horse pre-purchase examinations are a difficult yet common component of equine practice. Radiograph interpretation is frequently involved in the overall pre-purchase examination. In veterinary medicine, strong guidelines on the significance and impact of various lesions are lacking and clinicians often rely on their own experience to make assessments regarding outcome. Join this panel discussion to see various different viewpoints on radiographs in the pre-purchase examination.
This exchange will in particular focus on the following anatomic regions:
- The Foot - P3, Navicular Bone, Collateral Cartilages & Hoof Conformation
- Pastern Joint incl. subchondral defects of P1 / proximal P2
- Fetlock - Proximal Sesamoid Bones
- Cervical Spine
